Sunny and Warm Today, but Stay Out of the Ocean—High Rip Current Risk

Here’s the most important thing to know today: We’re looking at a beautiful, mostly sunny day with highs near 86°F—but if you’re planning a beach trip, the National Weather Service is warning of a HIGH RISK of rip currents. Entering the ocean is not advised right now. Lingering swells and onshore winds are creating dangerous conditions, so save the swimming for another day.

For everyone else? Today is perfect for just about everything else.

Your Thursday Setup

High pressure is firmly in control, and it’s going to keep us dry and warm through the weekend. This morning, expect some patchy fog before 9 a.m., especially inland—nothing that’ll cause major delays, but give yourself a few extra minutes if you’re heading to the theme parks or commuting early. Once the sun burns through, we’re looking at mostly sunny skies and light southeast winds (0–5 mph). It’ll feel warm by mid-afternoon, so if you’re planning to be outside at Disney, Universal, or SeaWorld, sunscreen is non-negotiable.

What to Do Today

Golfing? Today and Friday are going to be outstanding on the course—sunny, light winds, and warm. Get out there.

Yard work? Perfect conditions. The light winds mean no grass clippings blowing everywhere, and the dry forecast means your freshly mowed lawn will stay looking sharp.

Grilling? Tonight is ideal. After sunset, temperatures will drop to around 63°F with mostly clear skies—comfortable for hanging out on the patio. A portable propane grill and a rolling cooler with ice will make your evening setup effortless.

Theme park day? Bring a hat and plenty of water. Conditions couldn’t be better—no afternoon thunderstorms in sight (a rarity for us!).

Looking Ahead to the Weekend

Friday heats up a bit more, with highs near 90°F and another sunny day. Saturday stays sunny with a high of 91°F. These are the kinds of days where some interior areas could approach record highs, so stay hydrated if you’re outside for extended periods.

Saturday is Orlando City SC gameday at Inter&Co Stadium against Houston Dynamo FC. The weather will be absolutely stellar for soccer—sunny, warm (low 90s), and calm winds. If you’re tailgating, you’ll want shade; a folding canopy tent will be your best friend. Grab your team gear from Fanatics, snag tickets on SeatGeek or StubHub, and settle in for a great match.

The Change Coming

Enjoy this dry stretch while it lasts. A cold front moves through late Sunday into Monday, and that’ll bring increasing winds, rougher seas, and a return of hazardous beach conditions early next week. But that’s several days away—for now, we’re in a weather sweet spot.

For dinner tonight, keep it simple: a light pasta or stir-fry pairs perfectly with this warm, dry weather and pairs nicely with evening time on the patio.

Bottom line: Today is a winner. Just stay out of the ocean, and you’re golden.
