Orlando is heading into a clean Thursday with partly sunny skies and a high near 85°F — one of the better June days in recent memory for theme park crowds and anyone with outdoor plans across the metro.

Today’s Setup

The National Weather Service says a deep dry air layer is keeping rain chances at zero all day. Expect a mix of low and high clouds filtering some sunshine, with east-northeast winds of 5 to 15 mph and gusts up to 25 mph, especially near the coast. That breeze actually works in your favor — it takes the edge off the heat and keeps the humidity from stacking up. Tonight cools to a comfortable low near 67°F under mostly cloudy skies, still breezy at 5 to 15 mph with no rain in sight.

Best Window to Be Outside

The whole day is your window. Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and SeaWorld visitors can plan full days without worrying about afternoon storm interruptions — genuinely rare for early June in Orlando. Morning tee times at Bay Hill or Shingle Creek are ideal before the peak heat. Families heading to Lake Eola Park or the Dr. Phillips Center area will find conditions comfortable all afternoon.

Beach Warning: High Rip Current Risk

If you’re heading to Cocoa Beach or New Smyrna Beach, stay out of the water through at least Friday. The National Weather Service has a high rip current risk in effect due to rough surf and a persistent easterly swell. Boating on the Atlantic is also poor to hazardous today. Enjoy the shore from dry land only — this is a serious safety warning.

Dry and Breezy: Fire Safety Check

Today’s low humidity, deep dry air layer, and gusts up to 25 mph are the ingredients that let fires spread fast. There’s no official fire weather warning for the metro, but conditions like these are a smart reminder to check your home setup. Make sure you have a working smoke detector combo pack installed, a fire extinguisher home within easy reach, and keep an N95 respirator mask smoke on hand if any outdoor smoke drifts through the neighborhood.

Weekend Events and Tailgate Weather

The weekend is loaded. On Saturday, June 6, the Orlando Pirates host the Iowa Barnstormers at Kia Center — it’s indoors, so weather is zero factor. Grab your Official team gear on Fanatics before the game. Also on June 6, the Charlie Puth: Whatever’s Clever! World Tour plays Addition Financial Arena — high near 89°F that day, so dress light heading in. Find tickets on StubHub or Get tickets on SeatGeek. Friday night, Young the Giant brings the Victory Garden Tour with Cold War Kids to The St. Augustine Amphitheatre — an outdoor show under a forecast high near 87°F. Pack quick dry swim trunks or light layers for the evening.

Grill Night

Zero rain and a low near 67°F makes tonight textbook grilling weather. Fire up burgers, steaks, or grilled chicken with corn on the cob. Use an instant-read meat thermometer to nail the perfect internal temp every time. Need to stock up? You can order groceries on Amazon and have everything for tonight’s dinner delivered to your door.

Next Few Days

Friday brings mostly sunny skies and a high near 87°F with lighter winds — the pick of the week for the full Orlando weather forecast. Saturday warms to 89°F with just a 5% chance of a stray shower. A dry, increasingly warm weekend is locked in. Check outdoor gear deals if you’re planning any big outdoor adventures before the heat really settles in.
